From model-based definition to remote production
In partnership with ABN AMRO, our reseller CAD2M organizes a seminar on July 5th with the theme ‘Digitization in the manufacturing industry’. While the industry previously held on to the traditional working processes, a trend of digitization and smarter production methods is emerging. More and more companies start to see the benefits of paperless and remote production. These benefits go beyond the business objectives and also contribute to overarching issues such as climate control and economic equality.

From model-based definition to remote production
Designing in 3D CAD is now fully established in the manufacturing industry, but production is often still traditionally thought of. Even with progressive techniques such as 3D printing, the methods are often not yet digitized. Therefore we discuss various options for smarter production during the seminar ‘Digitization at the manufacturing industry’. Think for example of remote 3D printing. With this technique, products are produced in the country of the end user, without having to share intellectual property. Even with the more traditional production methods, there is still a lot to be gained, such as the implementation of the Model Based Definition (MBD) method that makes 2D drawings superfluous.
